Daily activity:

Thursday: water temp 84.0 N 7-10 in the a.m. / 83.8 WNW 10-15 in the p.m. Pier closed at 10:00 a.m. for loading fireworks. Partially reopened afterwards.


Friday: water temp 82.8 N 7-12 in the a.m. / 84.0 W 11-15 in the p.m.  Partially open until 7:00 p.m. then closed for fireworks show.


Saturday: water temp 79.5 ENE 8-15 in the a.m. / 82.8 W 9-12 in the p.m. Tarpon were hooked.


Sunday: water temp 81.1 E 2-7 in the a.m. / 84.4 S 5-7 in the p.m.  Tarpon were hooked. A few King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Bonita and Hardtails. Cigar Minnows were available for live bait.


Monday: water temp 81.3 WNW 2-6 in the a.m. / 85.5 W 7-10 in the p.m. A few King Mackerel and lots of Bonita in the morning. Several Tarpon hooked. Four small Kings in the afternoon, two of which “Flipper” ate. A few more Bonita hit the deck. “Flipper” was a pest all afternoon. Hard tails were plentiful. There were Cigar Minnows, Spanish Sardine and Alewives available for live bait.

 

 

  

Tuesday: water temp 80.2 N 3-5 in the a.m. / 85.6 W 14-17 in the p.m. A Tarpon hooked in the morning. There were a few Bonita early. Several King Mackerel were hooked, Four Kings hit the deck, four were eaten by “Flipper” and several more were lost to pulled hooks. Jose got the only big Kine. The rest were “schoolies”. Only a few Spanish Mackerel were caught Hardtails and Ladyfish were in. Cigar Minnows, Spanish Sardine and Alewives were available for live bait.

 

 


 

Wednesday: water temp 80.1 W 10-15 in the a.m. / 83.5 WSW 10-12 in the p.m. About a dozen small King Mackerel and a couple of Bonita in the early morning. “Flippers” came in about 9:00 a.m. and made a pest of themselves all day. They were relentless taking our bait and got several fish. I hooked and fought a Tarpon from the end Tee to the surf and back to the outer sandbar before breaking it off as it went under the pier. Several small Kings were hooked and 3 or 4 were decked in the afternoon. Chris caught the largest King. A few Spanish Mackerel, Ladyfish and Hardtails were caught too. Cigar Minnows, Spanish Sardine and Alewives were available for live bait.

 

 


Red Tide status: INorthwest Florida over the past week, K. brevis was not observed.
